THIS Product will Help Increase Book Sales and Generate More Revenue

Posted by Judith November - 6 - 2016 Comments Off on THIS Product will Help Increase Book Sales and Generate More Revenue

Are you curious about a product you could create that would help you sell books and/or generate more revenue? I’d guess about half the people reading this article are interested. The other half are thinking, “What? You mean my book won’t sell itself?”

No, it won’t.

The most labor-intensive and time-intensive aspect of your book business comes after you send the book off to the publisher. If you don’t believe me, ask any published author (self-published or otherwise). I guarantee they’ll confirm this. It takes the same amount of effort to promote a traditionally published book as a self-published book.

Speaking of self-publishing … let’s go there.

If you’re an indie author; a self-published author, the easiest sales come from family and friends. Next, sales dribble in from colleagues and competitors–and yes, competitors will buy your book. All the more reason you’ll need to work hard to rise above.

Then depending on how extensive your social media platform is you’ll probably sell a few more until you reach the magic number of many self-published authors; 100-200 books. If you’re also a speaker, you’ll probably sell more. But the cold hard truth is so cold and hard it warrants this cliche.

Unless you work really hard to market and promote and also find a way to repurpose the content in your book, your sales can be hit or miss. Count on two or more misses for every hit. Ouch!

Before you click away from my blog because you think I’m being pessimistic, I urge you to stick around. My goal is NOT to shatter your dreams but to introduce you to a brainstorm solution so you can cash in on book sales and generate more income.

Come on, out with it! What is the product????

The ancillary product could you develop to sell along with your book is a video course or workbook. You can also produce a podcast or audio course.

What steps would you take to design it? You might need help getting going, but everything you need to begin is in your book. Have an open mind and be willing to put in a little more elbow grease. It will be worth it and it will pay off–literally and figuratively.

Contact me for information if you’re interested in putting together a workbook or course to compliment your book. I’ll offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation to get you started. Reach me by email judith@judithcassis.com and be sure to put the word WORKBOOK in the subject line.
